Most people when shampooing their hair will use enough shampoo to lather their hair quite well. This is a waste of shampoo. If you use a small amount of shampoo and work it into your hair well and follow with a good rinsing, you will find that a second application of a very small amount of shampoo will lather up quite nicely.

The first application will clean the majority of dirt and oil from your hair even though you will not get the lathering effect you expect when using a more generous amount of shampoo. With the really yucky stuff washed out on the first application you will find that it takes almost no shampoo for the second application to get the lathering effect to thoroughly clean your hair. By using this method, I have found that I can reduce my shampoo usage by 50% or better.
